Yet another portrait of our prolific and absolutely gorgeous Lord Baltimore Hibiscus. We love the intense reds in these lovely trumpet shaped blooms that can range in size from 10" across in early Spring to 4" across towards the end of season in late September or early October if the weather remains favorable. This year (2023) we've experienced near-drought conditions and the plant showed no blooms at all from mid-August until mid-September when we finally got some rain. This relatively small but intensely red example nicely shows both the intricate structure and texture of the blooms and the fine detail in the bloom's center. Like so many of our other florals, this shot was captured with an iPhone 14 Pro and the "Camera+" app and except for cropping to 8x10 format was essentially unedited, a nod to the capability of the iPhone's camera hardware.
